how to set location of database in win 10 and limit import scan

I just installed Filmotech so I'm a newby.

I looked for answers and docs without success so questions:

I don't want to store the database in my C: drive so I want to know how to set the drive and folder where it is stored.

What must I do to use MySQL? The preferences don't allow me to choose it. Is it a separate install?

I tried to import by scanning a folder, but I want to limit the import to files in the folder but excluding sub-folders.

Thanks in advance for the assistance. If there are docs to explain this, please provide a link. ;^)

Hi,

You need to create a new profile (in settings, click + in the bottom left), then select if you want an internal (by default), an external or a MySQL database.

You can't limit subfolder when scanning files (but you can deselect them before importing data)

@filmotech Thank you. How can I move (or setup) the default database on a different drive and folder instead of the windows "user" database? Is there a profile file that I can edit to change this?

@filmotech I just tried to create the database in Filmotech (in MySQL Oracle ver 8.041) and it gives the 1071 error:
Specified key was too long: max key length is 1000 bytes.
What must I do to fix this issue? Thank you.

@filmotech Please ignore the post on the MySQL error. I got Filmotech working with MariaDB instead. Thank you.
