Hello,

First, save your .data file: go to Filmotech preferences ( https://www.filmotech.info/path-to-preferences/ ) and copy your .data files elsewhere. This file is your movie database.

Next : Check if windows is up to date. Try to reinstall Filmotech.

If this doest not work, perhaps the pref file is corrupted. Let me know if updating Windows and re-installing Filmotech does not solve the problem.

Hi, I haven't any .data files and I cannot found my own app data folder....

I tried to reinstall Filmotech but when I start the program the error message appears again.

I don't know how I can do....

Hi,

You should have a .data file in the filmotech preferences folder (in Filmotech_databases). Have you found this folder ?

Juste copy/paste the .data file elsewhere on your disk, for example in the documents folder or on an external backup disk. Be careful not to remove this file from the pref folder !

When your .data file is safe, quit Filmotech if it's running, then remove this two files (you can move them to the desktop for testing) : Filmotech_Preferences.xml and Filmotech_ModeListe.xml.

Launch Filmotech again, it will recreate this two files. Filmoteech should launch without error. If this is the case, the movie list should be empty.

For retrieving your database, in Filmotech, you need to open the settings (gear icon), then click on "Restore" and select the saved .data file when prompted. Close the settings, you should have your database back.

So I did as you told me, deleting those two files the program opened, I restored the database and the initial error message (RuntimeException) reappeared

Obviously the program shut down....

Perhaps the database is corrupted. Can you send me your .data file via WeTranfer ? You can find my email in the Legal notice page of the website.
